Page 24i Echeveria cv Decora

Echeveria cv DecoraUnknown
In Jacobsen's Lexicon this plant is described as a somatic mutation of E. cv Metallica.

Walther in his book "Echeveria" describes it as "an aberrant form of E. gibbiflora;
'Decora' "Leaves variegated white, rose, and green. Echeveria gibbiflora var. decora Rodigas".

A very decorative plant all the year round, colours enhanced in the winter.
Tall growing with the occasional offset. Plants need beheading every 2 or 3 years otherwise they become unwieldy.
Flowers produced from spring to autumn are almost the same colours as the leaves.
I will include a picture of the inflorescence when available.

Echeveria cv 'Decora' cuttings rooted together in a pot.

CULTIVATION:
Very easy in normal C&S compost with added slow release fertiliser. Growth in the summer is fairly rapid so repot when the plant really outgrows it's container.
In the winter, conditions should be just enough water to stop drying out at and a temperature of 4/6ºC, with good air circulation and plenty of light is essential.

PROPAGATION:
Easy in Spring and early Summer by beheading, then rooting and potting up the rosette.
The old stem may then produce offsets. The flowering stem technique works very well.
