Occurrence: Mexico (Durango, Jalisco, Sinaloa)
on steep hillsides.
A smaller type is reported at Aguascalientes.
One of the larger Gibbiflorae series related
to subrigida and (palmeri-Rose)
This plant has a large single leaf rosette up to 40 cm Ø and is not known
to offset.
The inflorescence is a magnificent 1 metre stem, with 6-12 branches at the
end, each branch bearing four, large, orange-yellow pinkish flowers.
Flowering time is late Autumn to early Winter in the Northern hemisphere.
The flowers last a long time in the cooler season.
