Tacitus bellus cv Morning Star
Garden cultivar.
This dwarf plant slowly forms clumps of grey green rosettes, very similar to the better known original "Superstar".
The inflorescence develops into several 10-15 cm tall, branching, stems with many flower buds which open as stunning flowers first creamy white then changing to pink then red as each flower ages.

The overall effect is a multicolour display which is long lasting and is succeeded by further flushes well into June and July.

CULTIVATION is easy using a well drained compost and grown in full light. The use of slow release fertiliser keeps the plant compact and healthy. Water in the growing season , when dry, from the base using a plant saucer. In the winter reduce water to a minimum just to keep the roots from drying out. Minimum winter temperature of 4ºC with good light and air circulation.
Re pot every year using a gritty well drained compost with the slow release fertiliser added.

PROPAGATION is easy from offsets or leaves taken in the summer. They can be slow to take so use a very well drained seed type of compost.
