Echeveria tolimensis ex Lau Alfred Lau
Another dwarf gem of a plant with typical showy orange and yellow flowers in early summer another of my favourites. Its origin is presumably Mexico collected by Lau. The highly succulent leaves are attractively marked, more like a Pachyphytum. It very slowly divides and this year (2002) there are two rosettes.

My 3 year old plant is now 9 cm across by 5 cm high. Grown in good light it will produce a few flowers on short slender stems. In the winter, conditions should be just enough water to stop drying out at a temperature of 5/6ºC, and good air circulation is essential. Propagation by leaves is probably best, I have not yet tried rooting leaves but it seems likely that this will be OK.
