Although known by almost every cactus and succulent grower and illustrated in many books , I have not seen pictures of the flowers anywhere. They deserve to be shown for the spectacular display of pastel colours. On the outside of the petals and sepals we have pinks blending into creams, greens and blue on the tips. Inside golden

yellow merging into green on the tip of each petal. The inflorescence consists of a long stem (350cm) bearing two sub stems of flowers (cincinnus) each of which bears up to 14 flowers each of which are 14 mm Ø by 15mm long. In this case each subsequent inflorescence is shorter and each bears flower buds on an undivided stem (cymose).These other flowers opened in late May.
