Pachyphytum longifolium Dr. J. N. Rose
I have now been able to identify this plant from a book "Unusual Plants" by J. R. Brown published in 1954 by Abbey Garden Press. Previously I thought it was XPachyveria cv Coronette, which did not seem to exist. This new offering I think is 95% valid and will be confirmed if the flowers are right.
The growth is shrubby with few, if any offsets.
It grows up to 30 cm in height and the rosette is around 15 to 20 cm . Leaves 6-11 cm long.

I have not yet seen any flowers but remain hopeful. Cultivation is somewhat difficult especially in the winter requiring full light and just enough water to keep it 'ticking over'. A temperature of 5C seems to suit it.
Foliage colour in summer is greyish- mauve, not a patch on the above winter display.
Propagation is easy from leaves which produce clusters of plantlets.
Another plant of this group which mark easily.
