This plant is described by Jacobsen as "epiphytic, rarely terrestial and growing in moss". I have not tried growing it in moss, only in my regular cacti and succulent compost. It certainly does well given plenty of water and positioned in full light but not in direct sunlight.
Cultivation is fairly easy providing it is regularly repotted and it survives quite well in a minimum temperature of 5°C. The plant looks better for a trim after flowering. The flowers open in April and continue into May.
Propagation is by stem cuttings and possibly by leaves, which I have not yet tried.
I also have the cultivar 'Mason' which is less fussy about watering, those interested will find it in 'Eglintonia' in the near future.
