Cotyledon tormentosa ladismithensis inflorescence

Cotyledon tormentosa Ladismithensis
inflorescence.

The 50 mm tall flower stem bearing 11 buds & flowers rises from the central stem and terminates it. This is typical of Cotyledons & the tomentoseae section II/6 according to Jacobsen. The plant continuously branches and I expect and hope it will have lots of flowers next year.
All outside parts of the inflorescence are covered in dense felty hairs,as shown in the photo below. Each flower is 18 mm Ø and 20 mm long.
This plant started flowering on 16/9/01 and is still opening flowers in succession up to the time of writing (20/10/01) with more buds still to open.
