Crassula perforata cv Variegata
LOCATION: and origin unknown. The normal non - variegated plant is found in South Africa (Cape Province and other areas). The leaves are 9-13 mm across x 14-22 mm long, in pairs fused around the stem. The flowers are very small and yellow on thin reddish stems. My plant is a sprawling sub - shrub, each stem of which is terminated by the inflorescence. The green leaves have cream, yellow and pink colouration which is very attractive in the growing season. The plants are fast growing and easily get leggy. The second

image shows a reverted to normal stem with green leaves with red spots which are equally appealing.
CULTIVATION: very easy in good light. Normal C & S compost is OK, requiring normal watering with some in the winter to prevent the thin leaves from shrivelling. Best grown in a minimum temperature of 4º C.
PROPAGATION: Easy from cuttings in Spring and Summer. I tidy the plants up in the Spring and put in a few cuttings to produce spare plants. To make a neat pot full, plant up thickly with cuttings trimming off any flower stems.
