Crassula rupestris Carl Peter Thunberg.
LOCATION: South Africa Cape Province & Namaqualand. A variable plant found over a wide territory this one is a perfect miniature in all parts. The pretty leaves are 5 mm across x 4 mm long in pairs fused around the stem. Each flower is 5 mm Ø and a true minute white jewel, pink flowered forms are also known. My plant is a sprawling shrublet with many branching stems which become prostrate when they reach 7 to 9 cm high.

CULTIVATION: fairly easy in a well lit glass house,
requiring light watering all the year round due to the flowering period in December and January. Best grown in a minimum temperature of 5º C.

PROPAGATION: Easy from cuttings from Spring to Autumn. I tidy the plants up in the Spring and put in a few cuttings to produce spare plants. It takes 2/3 years to attain the size of the illustrated plant above.
