Echeveria amoena.L D Smet.
Vera Cruz Mexico.
A pretty little plant with very many offsets, which need full light to colour up. The pink tinge is very pronounced in Winter and early Spring.
In collections for over 100 years is still collected by enthusiasts and beginners alike.
It forms very short compact offsets with blue tinged with pink, pruinose leaves and stems. The leaves are 20mm long, 7mm
Ø with a reddish brown tip.
Flowers: Corolla 4mm Ø x 9mm long are salmon-orange and pink, Sepals 12mm Ø overall violet. Inflorescence on 20 cm lax stems in spring
.

CULTIVATION: is easy using a well drained poor compost in very good light and kept well ventilated. In winter just enough water to keep the plants ticking over and 3ºC is adequate.
As soon as the plant fills the pot or pan move to a larger size or start over.
Once the plant gets over 12/13 cms Ø pans or shallow containers are best.

PROPAGATION: can be by leaf cuttings or offsets, either method is easy and gives good (almost 100 percent) results.
Leaves are easily detached and plantlets grow everywhere.
