Euphorbia horrida 't' type H.
Kennywell
Origin: garden form from Yorkshire, England.
E. horrida is a very variable species and some attractive forms have
resulted from crossing the best. Thicker stems and bigger colourful
thorns are characteristic of this form.
This fast growing plant seems reluctant to branch so it has to be beheaded
before it reaches the roof. Fortunately the cut roots easily.
The flowering period is late Spring to early Summer when the yellow,
5 mm, flowers (cyathophylls) together with the new red thorns make a
colourful show. In winter the thorns turn greyish brown.

5/7ºC in winter if kept dry. Full light or semi-shade is OK in the growing
season, but requires maximum light in the darker months.
Re pot every 1/2 years using a fairly rich compost with slow release
fertiliser added.
Propagation:
From cuttings in Summer, easy providing the cut surface is well dried.
Always spray bleeding surfaces with water immediately after cutting
to coagulate the sap.

care.
